A great way to make some revenue. Offers different options for code, and usually is non-intrusive and harmless.

The only downside to Google Adsense, is the fact that a person actually has to click on an ad in order for you to get paid for that click, unlike popups, popunders and layered ads which pay for x amount of impressions.

I dont think thats any problem though if you  have a couple hundred visitors a day. X%  of them will make a click. I usually get 10 clicks per 150 or so visitors.

If anyone is wondering too adsense pays by keywords by waht adwords users bid on so
The CPC you'll get depends on your niche. If if have a MSRS (myspace resource site) you'll get like 1-3 cents a click wink If you site if about electronics you might get 50 cents a click.
Check out https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal  tells the bidding pricing for keywords. (You have to put the Selection on "show Estimated CPC (cost per click)

We actually implemented google adsense on this forum (it adds two small links under the first post in every topic). Not too much luck so far.. nobody clicks it.. but we'll see how it goes Smiley

This is most likely becuase you have small traffic.
Check out Digitalpoint webmaster forum they make few thousand a month from adsense on the forum.

Of course I'm not going to lie. I think using SMF might a problem for your traffic becuase people love VB forums. If you could find a way get Vbulletin deffinatly.
Ther might be hack or something to transfer mysql DB from here to VB. Deffinatly try it out if its available on a Sandbox to see if it works.
Free stuff will always come to bite you in the ass later on :S

joe24 .. we actually have modified SMF enough that we believe it's better then VB at this point. Check out the SEO friendly URL's and dynamic meta tags on all the forum pages Smiley

I doubt we'll ever hit DP's numbers, but we have our own niche. We're a webmaster AND web support forum Smiley

If we get traffic it is easy to make money .But how to get traffic? I saw a wonderful site where we can drive fast traffic by performing marketing strategies like blog marketing, link building, video marketing, web 2.0 marketing, social marketing, internet marketing. Iam sure this will help you.

jackhumphrey ... It seems like you're just advertising your site/blog. In the future, please keep that kind of stuff on the Site Promotion board.

Do not use traffic exchanges for any pages or you sites with Google Adsense its against the TOS and you'll get a account Termination letter.

I second the above comment about traffic exchanges. I got a standard warning e-mail from Google one time after they detected hits from traffic exchange sites. Another point is that traffic exchange sites don't bring good visits. All they do is move your counter up a bit. I don't usually have much traffic on any of my sites yet either so I'm not making much from Adsense. But at least the nice thing about it is that I am consistently making at least something from it.

Someone further up mentioned pop-under ads. I personally get a bad impression of any site that has them. Whenever I find myself on a site with pop-under ads I get off it very quickly. I especially despise those pop-unders advertising casinos that helpfully offer to install software on my computer.

AdSense is by far the best, I get around $50 a day from it making up about 30% of my online earnings so it is a really good way to earn, some niches are bad and pay only a few cents per click but my biggest niche pays $0.50-$2 per click so its good.
