How many people would be interested in album / image hosting from T35?

We are currently looking into expanding into image/album hosting or web blog hosting.. The only issue with both is that we already technically provide both on paid hosting (fantastico scripts). Any one has any thoughts or comments?

Yes, I do.   grin   Perhaps some sort of photo blog hosting like ImageShack offers.
Cheers!

Image hosting would be nice. Perhaps something akin to Flickr?

Also, if you wanted to expand into the blog area beyond what's available through Fantastico, you could offer a Movable Type installation service, or maybe offer various blog skins packages (for various platforms - like blogger, MT,  Wordpress, etc) in addition to the album/image hosting.

Just a thought Smiley

To successfully expand into blog hosting, I'd recommend checking out the competition at tripod and live journal. Live Journal makes it very easy to have communities and anything else you can imagine. Their set up is also much simpler to use. With a format similiar to theirs, but with the ads for free accounts, you might be able to drum up more business. myspace is also very popular, but they have music bands that is their gimic.

Also, if you were to have an optional  blog page designer like livejournal has but with more features, bells and whistles, one might even pay for it. For example, one could buy more space to house more images. I'd make it as easy to use as tripod and you would have a real winner.

Lastly, if one could use a search box to find free sites that are hosted on T35, some members might actually go check those sites out and might even check out the ads as well.

Umm, do you really expect T35 to become the next LiveJournal? You can get their source code and add it to T35 easily and stuff but their are already a bunch of other sites like greatestjournal, deadjournal and other things like that so I don't think we need another livejournal lookalike. And to make a successful livejournal you need A LOT of dedicated  bloggers.
I think that just allowing maybe a WordPress Blog would be the best option in my opinion. Easy userinterface.

Concerning the high amount of blogs out there... I've checked all of them out, and the only one that comes even close to LiveJournal, is MySpace. However, the others are all pretty lame by comparison.

The whole idea of building a better mousetrap, is that one reaps the financial benefits. Plus, if T35, keeps there great Customer Service, they will be able to blow MySpace right out of the water. Service is what Myspace lacks, and LJ has.

Plus, blog hosting and image hosting CAN net a lot of money if done right.
