If, like many people, you have made the decision to conduct your business online, either exclusively or partially, you'll want to make sure you familiarise yourself with the most effective and efficient methods and means of doing so. Fortunately, there are several different options to choose from when it comes to building your own http://ecommerceevolution.blogspot.com/2009/10/maintain-online-customers.html  based on variables such as your budget and skills. One option you may want to consider if you have no programming or website development knowledge is using an online ecommerce site builder, which can also be one of the quickest solutions. Some online store builders even offer free trial periods to give potential users a chance to explore the service before actually signing up for an account. With this choice, you'll need to create a user name and password, choose a site design, upload your photos or product details and finally, begin marketing your site, and hopefully, making sales. If you do have some knowledge of this type of computer software and your own website, another option is using ecommerce software that you must install on your computer and run through your site's host server. If you're already paying for web hosting and able to install the software, then paying a one-time fee for the package could be less expensive than paying for monthly charges. However, you wouldn’t have the same level of support that a complete ecommerce site builder would offer.

I have been doing online sales for over 5 years, and have got some good resources. I am going to share these with you, and hopefully you can be benefited from this.

(1)First register with http://www.paypal.com & http://www.google.com (checkout)
These are two credit-card processors, which will make it super simple for you to get started immediately.

(2)You require a name for yourself. I recommend http://www.domaindiscover.com or http://www.godaddy.com
These to URL providers have great customer service, and good  pricing.
Remember, a good URL can be your foot in the door when it comes Google ranking,

(3)If you have under 1'000 products, I  suggest http://www.ecrater.com
This website hands-down offers the most resources, and traffic for a FREE website, and cost NOTHING!!!

(4)If you have over 1,000products, I suggest http://www.instantestore.com

Steps to start an E-Commerce business
(1)Research your niche and understand as much as regarding supply and demand for the products you will be selling. If there is competition, how will you survive What products or services will you offer  that are superior or better priced?

(2)Select a web hosting service that suits all your needs. Find one with free site builder tools, templates, shopping cart or e-commerce solutions and great  services.

(3)Buy a domain name and a web hosting package. Research your domain name (the URL for your site) before selecting it.

(4)Build the pages for your e-commerce site. Besides images and prices, include a description of each product.

(5)Load website shopping cart elements in your site. Each product should have a "Buy Now" or "Add to Cart" button that has to be coded properly. Check your website to ensure a transaction can be completed successfully.

First you need a  product or service to sell, then you need a web site and a hosting services to host the web site, you need a shopping cart, the shopping cart is one of the most important parts to having a smooth e-commerce transition here is a ecommerce software.
