Google have BANNED T35 !!!
« on: August 09, 2011, 06:10:24 AM »

It looks like Google have just blacklisted T35.

Webmaster Tools confirms for any T35 member site that "This site may be in violation of Google's quality guidelines."

At first I thought it was just me, but a search for site:t35.com returns zero results.

T35 need to contact Google about this urgently.

72 hours after I report this and not a single word from T35 :(

Could you at least acknowledge that:
a) You understand what it is I'm reporting.
b) You understand that it affects T35's own site, and all free hosting member sites.
c) You're attempting to get something done about it.

I appreciate how difficult it probably is to get any kind of sensible dialogue going with Google these days.

We've reported the issue to google. They have escalated it internally and we should hear back soon.

I'm also concerned for the banning, and i think it's not only google that banned t35, even yahoo. I hoped google and yahoo work it our immediately with the coordination of t35 people.

To add some info, even facebook blocked the t35 sites, I've reported this months ago, but still fb blocks my site (the last time I checked). As a remedy, I just replaced the dot (.) with asterisk (*) in order to display the website link.

Thank you and more power!

kasili73: I see no indication at all that Yahoo have blocked T35. Sites from T35, including the T35 main site and free hosting member sites, all show up in search results. What makes you think Yahoo is involved here?

I hope they provide you with an explanation.

If this blocking was due to the regular creation of phishing sites on T35 then I think someone at Google needs some retraining with a clue-by-four. I hope you've made it abundantly clear to them that site addresses which are subdomains of t35.com are created outwith of your control by your members and you always shut down criminal sites that are reported to your abuse address. Google themselves don't police their own networks (see YouTube) but rely on abuse reports to get stuff taken down, so they should accept the same policy for T35.

When I searched my site, cp2pc on yahoo, there's zero result. Before, my site used to be number on that search. A while ago, I've searched "site: t35.com" on yahoo, there's zero result on t35.com sites.

We hoped t35 people addressed these problems asap.

I don't get zero results.

When I search cp2pc.t35.com on yahoo.com you show up as first result.
When I search "luzon radio" on yahoo.com you show up as 79th result.

No sign of yahoo blocking t35 to me. Your site might not be ranking very high, but that's probably more to do with your site and a lack of inbound links. I have a t35 hosted site that shows up in the top ten results for relevent keywords, so I doubt Yahoo are penalising t35 in any way.

They haven't provided a reason yet, but we're hoping it gets resolved soon.

No I haven't. This block applies to every T35 free site, so there's little point having some clueless admin at Google pour over my site with a fine tooth comb when it's not my site that triggered the block. I did try to find an email address to notify them of how inappropriate it is to block all these sites because of a few miscreants, but Google doesn't seem to be a particularly contact-friendly company.

One week on, the question is: has t35 had any kind of reply from them?

Google hasn't responded yet. We have reached out to them numerous times and have submitted numerous reconsideration requests.

Based on experience, is there a chance that google will consider the appeal and lift the ban?

Thank you

I've seen them un-ban sites before - but it usually takes 1.5 weeks. Only time will tell what they do.

Two weeks on and this isn't looking good for T35.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/07/06/google_cans_11m_dot_co_dot_cc_sites/

http://googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.com/2011/06/protecting-users-from-malware-hosted-on.html

Google have banned all .co.cc domains, despite many of them probably being good sites, because it considers the domain to be a "spammy freehost" which they will ban "if we see a very large fraction of sites on a specific freehost are spammy or low-quality".

If that's also the reason that T35 freehosting is currently blocked by Google then T35 might need to take a more proactive approach in removing the vast amount of junk sites it hosts (phishing, doorways, cloaking, keyword-infested-honeypots, affiliates with no new content, etc.) rather than just removing reported phishing sites, if it is to stand any chance of reversing the block.

If the block is going to continue indefinitely then I suspect a large proportion of the legitimate users around here will feel there is no choice but to move elsewhere

We've moved member sites to .t35.me (which is not banned by google) while we work on resolving this issue with them.
