I am installing Gallery on my webpage and I having some trouble.....

At the beginning of the screen there is a configuration screen that I must perform.  It looks like this...

Gallery has not been configured!

Gallery must be configured before you can use it.
1.    Create an empty file .htaccess and an empty file config.php
2.    Create an albums folder for your pictures and movies.
Make sure that both files and the folder are read and writeable for your webserver !

Then start the Configuration Wizard.


I try to create a blank .htaccess but it never show up in my ftp as being there.  Then when I click on the Configuration Wizard I get this.....

Can somehow please help me out as to what this is trying to tell me and what I need to do.
