I run a web site for my basketball club and use t35 free hosting. The other day when I went to access the web site it came up with an error page. The address is http://bouncers.t35.com. I went and signed up a new account and exactly the the same thing happened my new address is http://www.bouncers.t35.com, the www. being part of my username. Can someone please instruct me as to what is going on?

First off, your username cant have funny characters like dots/periods.
Secondly, it probably didnt work the first time because you put www infront which causes some problems on Redhat. So just exclude the www.

Edit---
Also why did you get a 404? Any idea?

Hey Bouncersbball,

Ok like Adragons said www.bouncers.t35.com will not work when it is signed up. Now this sounds like you have already had a site with T35 right, like it was running?  Well they are a few small reasons it could be giving you a error page, one hasn’t been updated in like 90 days or so.  2 missing an index.html page (not sure if that would give you a 404 error) and if you do have an account have you log into T35, on the main page?

Now if you haven’t had a website on T35, these will cause your site not to work when signing up, singing up with CAPS having a . or / or any other funny symbol

Thanks for your help, I tried loging into my old account and couldn't get the password, so I tried to get the password retrieved and kept coming up with the conformation screen then when I go to check my email it is never there. I tried sending it to alternate email addresses but they dont work either. Any way I'm pretty sure that the error would be through not updating my site within 90 days. Thanks

I don’t want you to think that that is the reason its offline, but I have heard Alex say that 90 days is a limit. Do you have a back up of your files? I would just request that the account taken off, that way you’re sure it’s gone and just start it up again. Smiley

I wouldn't recommend leaving T35 just because you don't want to update every 90 days lol Wink. You will not find a better free host.

The 90 day policy was changed to 180 days recently. Thats logging into ftp once every half a year to show us you are still using the account.
