since i ain't good at explainning things here is a defintion of hotlinking i found on a google search

Bandwidth theft or "hotlinking" is direct linking to a website's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, journal, weblog, forum posting, etc.

Hotlinking is nothing other then loading things from another server onto yours. That creats problems when it comes time to pay the bandwith fees. Say you run a free web hosting service like we do and someone else who is hosted on a server other then yours decides they don't want to use their bandwith to load their images or music files (there are many other types). They could throw them up on your server link to them on theirs and bam your paying for their bandwith fees but not getting any reembursment. It causes a big problem among web hosts which is why most will disable it.

Paid does because your paying for your own bandwith, however, it is disabled on the free hosting server.

Hello guys, I'm back! Your new forum looks cool! Well, I'm not writing here for this, so, if I'm not mistaking, opening an image directly from a browser IS allowed, right?
