I am working on a project for FREE MySQL, this would be identical to hotsql.com & freesql.org BUT We will only have one SQL server (to start with). This also will allow more connections per hour and faster connections at this time.

The TOS will include:

1. Any type of WAREZ (Illegal content based on U.S. Laws) content will result in termination of account and ban of IP and may also result in contact of authorities.
2. You are responsible for backing up all your data. If you require daily backups they are available for a little fee
3. You cannot resell access to FreeMySQL's resources
4. Power Users Will be Warned ONCE and then Termination will begin and possibly BAN IP.
5. You may use FreeMySQL for any MySQL Needs, as long as the TOS is not broken.

--
I would like you to also know there is no connection between - T35.com - and - FreeMySQL.net - so T35 is not responsible for the actions. of FreeMySQL services.

yes, i am interested, but i dont want there to be alot restrictions.

what do you define exactly as a power user?

even though my free sql host right now blows, the reason i would consider changing (and only reason) is so i dont have to deal with overloading my queries from using a fourm which as im sure you know is very intensive on that.

any ways, id like some more information first, like what exactly do you define as a poweruser and what would be the max queries /hour we would be able to make.

do you think it would be enough to run a semi popular forum, and not become a "poweruser".

im not talking thousands of members, but possibly several hundred with time. (and thats not ruling out that the board could grow to thousands with even more time, although unlikely)

in any case, i need a new host. so i am interested.

1. Power User on our terms will be when you use more than 75% of everyone’s resources
(leave others with 25%, less than half and that is not fair)

2. Max Connections/hour will currently be set at 2,500/accout (can increase)

3.  Most Important Rule, This service can not be used for Any Illegal Content - OF ANY KIND.

We are done with the server and now working on scripts (signup, lost password, and possible a custom CP – depending on popularity)

By The Way -- MySQL is a Database system, which allows you to run scripts and pull info from your database. Like forums, stores, client list, schedules, phonebook, or any other list of info. (hope that helps)

hmmm... 2500 seems really low for running a forum with more than a few members. that number could probably be hit easy with like 5 members.

5 people using 2,500 connections in one hour is extremly unrealistic. Those 5 people would have to each make at least 25 posts and each person would have to read every single one of those posts within one hour to reach that limit. Our forum uses about 5,000 to 7,000 connections per hour and we have close to 100 people per hour at least.

Within the next 30-45 days,
We are doing some heavy testing to make sure all bugs and all the settings are correct.

Our current testing shows we can easily handle 7,000-10,000 connections/hour. The server will start with 5,500 connections/hour and we’ll start from that and go up if need be.

also, will there be any database size limits?

i signed up for some cheap hosting in the mean time until this is ready, it has unlimited connections, but only a 5mb database (i can imagine that will be hit pretty soon...)

Hello-
I would be interested in being a moderator for your forum.  I am quite familiar with forum administration as I have a few myself.  Just for a little background- I even have a forum website.  www.thefreeforum.net  Please email me if I am accepted.  I learned about this on the T35 Support forum from Kistler.  Thanks!
Cheers!
