Do you promote your website offline or just primarily online?  If you've done offline promotion of your websites, have you found it to be effective - in both time and cost?  Please share some offline promotional strategies & feedback.  Thanks!

Honestly I haven't spent a whole lot of time in promotion.  I have a link on my paper information and on my email.  I did sign up for the google web master account thing that puts you in their web crawler.  A few years ago we spent some money on another site trying to promote, and with a lot of work our page finally it into the top ten of most crawlers, but we weren't getting any orders through the website.  It was still all coming from ebay.  So it just didn't seem worth it to me.  I have it now simply for people who want more information.

No not yet. I have heard of people advertising their website on National Newspapers and putting leaflets on notice boards, which sounds like a good idea. May test that one day, and see how it goes. I think every little helps.

I have heard of people doing it offline but I strictly do it ONLINE unless of course Im at a dinner party and someone comes out and asks what I do then of course I run it down for them.  I advertise every way I can online, mostly I do it in free ways, but there are time when desperate times call for desperate measures and you really need to put money into your advertising.  I belong to alot of forums, I always make sure I put my link in my signature.  Most forums have a "promote" area so I always do it no matter how nervous I get about promoting it.  Free classifieds, theres millions of calssified sites online.  Write articles for people that are relevant to your site.  If its a good article they WILL tell other people to goto your site.  PPC sites.  Word of mouth.  If you have a good domain name like findcars.com you can get organic traffic.  Site reviews, lots of companies, forums, blogs, etc have site review areas.  You post your site, people goto it and they review it.  But if they like it they will also come again.  Safelists.  God theres like a billion ways to advertise online I cant even list all of them.. OH one more important one... backlinks!

PM me for more info and Ill try to help out as much as I can Smiley

Hi,
The best way to advertise offline is to place a classified ad in the local newspaper or mag and see the response. If the response is good, you can go for regional newspapers and then national newspapers.

The other strategy is to print small leaflets and distribute them at busy centres or insert them in daily newspapers for distribution. This way offline response will supplement your online efforts.

I hope this helps.
