Hi - I'd like to introduce myself first off.  I'm Lisa Alexander and have dabbled in web design for a few years now.  I've went back to site builders and also using basic HTML coding of my own.

In the recent past I've been looking for a way to implement a membership site - either into the back end of my site or an entirely different site.

I've searched for hosting services with services already in place.

My main "want" is to allow the user to create their own username and password.  I guess if I could find "how to" do that, I could create my own membership site and just implement that.

Any ideas?

Were you looking to set something up with a flat file database, or with a database engine (like MySQL) to house the member data? I can point you in the direction of some things that would help you learn to do it.

I think the easiest and best choice for you would be to find a script to run your website around.  I am sure you can find many at sites like hotscripts.com.  The only bad thing about this is you might have to use a standard template.  Either that, or get one custom scripted and designed, which will cost a lot of money.
