GIMP and Photoshop are good according to your requirement. Blending images, creating gradients and others can be achieved. People use both for different things.

For blending images, creating gradients and other things of that nature, GIMP and Photoshop both are great.  Photoshop meant for working with photos and other raster images.

I generally utilize Fireworks which is very dissimilar to Photoshop as both products are from the same company. I choose Fireworks as this software looks to be a lot lighter to utilize then Adobe Photoshop.

Photoshop is better than Gimp as it has better services and features to offers and also Photoshop is more use-friendly and multi-purpose tool.

I normally use Fireworks which is rattling twin to Photoshop as both products are from the unvarying accompany. I favour Fireworks as this software seems to be a lot easier to use then Brick Photoshop.

The best one is the one with which you are familiar and for me it is the Photoshop, as I learnt it in the college and is quite expert in it. In case of image editing, I think this is the best.

I do not have too much monetary system to expend on a program like Photo shop, even though I know it's ordered to be the most beneficial in the market for graphics cutting. I was inquiring if anybody had any high point with GIMP, which is abstractly costless, and if it may be able to do the business I desire to do it.
