When considering design software, one should prefer Fireworks over Photoshop as per my experience. I never find myself close to Photoshop.

GIMP is also free, open source, and cross platform which makes it a big plus over PS, and yeah I know PS is cross platform, but it's only available for Mac, and Windows, while Gimp is available for Windows, Linux, Mac, Unix, Solaris, and Iris.

I really deliberate that Fireworks is a much meeker choice than the Photoshop. One way or another, I do not see why but then again I feel uncomfortable with the Photoshop.

I think that it will be really a good thing that you go for the one that you are already familiar with and this is the Photoshop program by Adobe.

Fireworks and Photoshop, I was very much like the two products in the same company used. After the fireworks will be able to simplify by using Adobe Photoshop, I love this program.

I used to be very similar to Photoshop, Fireworks at since the two products. This software seems much simpler, and later, Adobe Photoshop, use of fireworks.

It is not too expensive, because I have to say you do. I do like the layout and look of the fireworks; you can do almost all that need it, my own, Photoshop Please use the Elements.

It is not very difficult and you can do a lot of things that you need. Even though my preference is the layout and nature of Fireworks, I am into using photoshop features.

Photoshop is beyond comparison. It is the most stunning tool for photo editing and designing that I have ever used.

GIMP is free graphics editing software. It doesn’t help fully in designing a website. Moreover, designers can easily work on Photoshop for every designing aspect.

I have use Photoshop and prefer photoshop over GIMP. It has user friendly layouts and  more control than GIMP. The layouts of Gimp is not very intuitive which makes it hard for the beginner in photo editing. Photoshop has all most important features that are in the full photoshop and it is at much more reasonable price than GIMP.

GIMP wasn't so much "built" as it "jes' growed" like Topsy.
I confess that as an old (started with Photoshop 2.5) Photoshop user, I have looked at GIMP; but for me personally, its learning curve makes Photoshop look like the "kiddie slope" at the ski resort.
I've clearly been imprinted on PS, so for me it's hopeless to think of changing.

Gimp VS Photoshop. Same features. Same results. Different rates. Gimp is free and open source whereas Photoshop is highly expensive. The only difference in the two is that GIMP is a raster image editor whereas photoshop supports both raster and vector images.
