Hello,

My name is Ryan and i am new to this board.

I am having a little writer's block on a website i am being paid to make,

I need to make a contest site where registered users upload music, then vote on who is best.

the plan is to make it where each user ranks 5 submitted songs in order of best to worst, while his song gets voted on by 5 other members. at the end of this round of voting - a percentage (defined by an administrator before the contest starts) moves forward, while the rest are taken out of the contest.

a new round of voting occurs, each user that is still in the contest views 5 new songs and rates them, while his song is ranked by 5 different people.

after a few rounds of this (again defined by the contest rules) a winner is declared.

I like this system, but actually coding it in PHP and Mysql is giving me trouble...

To be honest i dont even know where to start,

in the past, i would have problems like this, and as soon as i got a starting point, the answers would become obvious- i am hoping this will be the case. once i figure out what i am trying to do in code terms, i can figure out the rest. i mean contests and polls have been around for years- it is one of the staples of social networking... but so far i am coming up blank...

i would love to get some help on this, either here or by email (ryan@drewreysolutions.com)

thank you much!
