hi there,
I am trying to add my home pcs' IP address to the list of computers which can access the mysql database without sucess.  On the MySQL account maintenance page in cPanel, there is a list of Access hosts and a textbox to add more. I enter my ip address, click the [add host] button and cPanel informs me "Added Host xx.xx.xx.xx to the access list". However, when i view the access hosts list again, it hasn't changed, and the new entry is not there.

any help on this is appreciated
thanks in advance,
russell

Are you sure you are not loading the list again from cache? Have you tried clearing the cache and reloading the page? Also, have you tried actually accessing the mysql to see if it works now?

hello alex,
i have tried refreshing, ctrl+f5'ing, clearing browser cache and using a different browser all to no effect. I still cannot access the database from my ip address. I am trying to add the address range 84.64.%.% - perhaps i am using the wildcards wrong?

thanks,
russell

ps. the program i am trying to access it with is SQLyog if that helps...

How about if you enter the ip without wild cards? Does that work?

hi again alex,
no, my IP address without wildcards doesnt work Sad
I again tried clearing cache etc, and logging in from SQLyog

otherwise,
i am basically trying to find a way of syncing the database on t35 with the database on my laptop (both which run the same site with the same backend database). I found SQLyog online but if you have any other ideas on syncing databases i am open to ideas.

thanks again
russell

I just tried it on our demo account and was able to add ip's and wild card ip's. So even when you enter a basic ip (without wild cards), it doesn't show up once you reload the page? You might need to shoot us an email with account details so we can test this out on your account.. the demo account I tried worked fine.
