The YABB forum stuff on BulletingBoard is back but I cant seem to get it to work. I installed it (which was way easy) but cannot seem to manage it at all! It wont let me login as admin (keeps saying "You should fill in a user name" and it wont let anyone register no matter what they enter it says "There is an invalid character in the Username field. Valid Characters are Letters(a-z), Numbers (0-9), and ( # + - . @ ^ _ )" even when no such characters are there!

I even tried to register aaa as a name and still got the same error. I cannot seem to get into this to change anything! Any Ideas?

What character set is your computer set at? You might also want to try to report this issue to them since fantastico just installs the script.. once it is installed any kind of bugs/errors are usually with the script itself. Also, double check all the configurations and permissions on the files.

I'm running Windows 2000 the Character Set is Unicode character encoding which is the default. The Language is English (Western) and nothing fancy. I've tried this on 3 computers including a 98 SE machine and get the same result. The permissions on the folder are set wide open! And i've even had friends try to register. They get the same error.

I emailed them when I posted the first message to try and cover butt there. I have yet to hear back from them.

I sent them an email as well ... (also cc-ed fantastico on it). I'll let you know if I hear back. You might also want to try re-isntalling in a different folder.. we recently updated fantastico.

I did...I reinstalled it under my main folder in Forums. The link is  http://www.t35.com/~madchatt/Forums. I checked open all permissions and still nothing. The Jr. Support Team emailed me today asking for the link and login. Which i gave them. Perhaps they'll have better luck with it than we had!

Well looks like its going to be a case of the left hand blaming the right hand here. No one seems to know what to do.

By the way.. using it with t35.com/~ could be the problem... most of the fantastico scripts requre you to install it and use it with a domain only. t35.com/~ should only be used for the first few hours/days while the dns is updating.

Did you use that url during the install (when it asked for folder names and such) or were you still using t35.net/~?
