I've been breaking my back over the last two hours trying to get my favicon here to work properly. I am certain that my HTML is valid and that the favicon is of the valid icon type (*.ico file; 16x16 with 16 colors). I am using this line to display it:
Code:

I've tried several variations, including "favicon.ico" and "http://www.yoshistation.com/favicon.ico." Are favicons just not allowed for users on this server? From an HTML perspective, this should be working.

What Browser are you using?

Edit: I tested it in IE and it does not work. In Firefox I can see it.

In Firefox 1.0, it should show up in three places: The address bar (which it does until you make the window inactive or switch tabs), the tab bar (which it doesn't do at all), and in the bookmarks menu (which it works 100% for). It should show up in all three of those places constantly, like every other site with a favicon does. Unfortunately, it isn't. I also tried it in IE, and it didn't work at all.

i have a favicon on my site, and i'm on free hosting. how did you make the favicon? did you just rename a .bmp to a .ico, cause I don't think that'll work. Try getting a favicon making program by searching google

Works in both IE and Firefox for me. Try clearing your cache and loading again.

Looks like it was the cache that was the problem. *slaps forehead* Why is it that the errors are always resolved by the most obvious solutions? All I had to do was clear my cache... Ah well. I've learned my lesson.

Triganimarusuke: I made the icon with IconEdit32.

Oh, and it doesn't work in IE, but I don't think that I can control that: I haven't used IE in a while and it doesn't seem to display any favicons anymore.

Thanks for your help, everyone.
