Hijacked Website and/or Domain?
« on: November 07, 2011, 09:04:50 AM »
It seems my website, http://www.wildrhymetrees.com/ has been redirected (or hijacked) to some alien entity.  Whatever page URL I enter, it gets redirected to:  http://news.awdaa.net/

My account is in good standing (as far as I know), and all of my website files seem to be in order.

Please help!

Yes the entire host was redirected for roughly 6 hours. It really pissed me off, but it should be fine now.

Thanks!  I was a little freaked-out for a while.  I changed all relevant passwords.  It seems the .htaccess file in question was already deleted.  Of course, it will probably have to be recreated when I re-enable Hotlink Protection....

My hosting account was also hacked and main page was replaced to forward to some site. I deleted that page a restored original page a few minutes ago. Is there anything else I need to do to help prevent this in the future?

Make sure to change your password and update all of your site software. Wordpress for example, has an exploit that allows a hacker to replace your index page or htaccess page.
