When I try to establish a connection to the mySQL database and set up a recordset in DReamweaver 8, I get this error message called "HTML Error Code 500 Internal Server Error" I hope you could help me shed some light on the nature of this error and how to go about correcting it.

Might be two explanations...

1. You might not have setup the options correctly in dreamweaber
2. You need to add your computer ip to the ip's allowed to connect to the mysql in the mysql page in cpanel.

Either cause wouldn't produce a code 500, but it should help you investigate the issue on your end. Another option I would recommend is to contact dreamweaver support for help with their software.
