I'm getting alot of errors myself. I think there might just be a high load on the mysql server and it can't handle it all.

There's currently a DDOS attack on the MySQL server. We have safe guards in place that prevent most of the damage and restart the server on an overload, so that has been keeping things pretty stable (ie: it shouldn't be down for more then a few minutes when it is). I'm currently in the process of filtering out most of the attack so things should be back to normal within 5-10 minutes.

I've been getting mysql and db errors for 3 days now. The server is also slow and keeps going down for 20-30 minutes at time.

Is there any end in sight or just when these dos attacks stop?

I am not sure where you would get that from? We use hosttracker to track our up time from 77 different world wide locations at 5min intercals and the only down time was today, and it was minimal.

http://host-tracker.com/en/website-monitoring-info/469371-469372/lvuc/

The only down time for the last quarter was 24min which happened today. Not a minute of downtime or mysql problems yesterday or "the last 3 days" as you mentioned. Are you sure you are checking the correct host? Could there be connectivity issues on your side? If you are using free hosting, who's mysql server/db are you using?

I'm on the Business package.

I'm not 100% sure when these downtimes are. I'm just getting reports from my users saying the site keeps going down, it's laggy and there are mysql error messages about too many connections.

I've only seen the mysql messages myself and the only downtime I have seen was the one 2-3 hours ago. I've had trouble accessing the phpMyAdmin area at these times.

The only mysql errors I received were during the recent DDoS attack on the server. Other than that, never had any downtime or mysql errors.

The only down time was earlier today.. in total it should have only been about 23min as the up time monitor reported. I'm not sure what your users were seeing before? I would recommend doing a "repair" on your database in cpanel and phpmyadmin. If what your users are reporting are correct, it might be a sign that your DB is getting corrupted.

I ran a repair as suggested, thanks.

I've looked though the error_log to see what, if anything, has been going on. The mysql error I've been seeing is:

[15-Oct-2007 12:28:47] PHP Warning:  mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Too many connections in /home2/*account_name*/public_html/filepath/dbconnect.php on line 6

When I saw this happening I logged into the server right away and noticed it said "MySQL Databases     NA / unlimited" under the General account information, also the phpMyAdmin displayed an error in big red font when I tried going onto it. After a few minutes it fixed it's self and I thought nothing else of it. Then I saw it happen again but once more it fixed it's self. My users told me it had been happening for days and the lag was unbearable and the downtime was annoying bla bla bla bitch moan cry etc.

Since then I haven't seen the error or experienced any problems.

The only instances of this were all encountered on the 15th. It hasn't been going on for 3 days at all. I will have to have a talk with my users and thank them for making me look a fool.

Apologies.
