My domain is registered now at http://www.usagi-chan.com/ so I am wondering how I get the index page to show up at that address instead of http://www.usagi-chan.com/index

You need to make it an index.html and place it on the public_html folder.

Is the /index a directory? cause if it is I think you have to put an extention on it like .html or .php ect. But I could be very wrong but it's worth a try Smiley
