I was wondering what they were.

Say I have a current domain, but then I purchase another one. I add the second one in the addon domains list and have it redirect to something like blah.mydomain.com. Does it work like that?

An addon domain has its own folder under your account while a parked domain just points to your main one without its own files or folders.
