What happens when Bandwidth Traffic limit is exceeded?

Hi, I'm a new customer with an 8GB bandwidth account.
As a new customer, I'm nowhere near exceeding it yet, But I'm wondering, what happens if it does get exceeded?
Does that mean, my website will be shutdown until the next month?
If so, are there any means to reopen my site right away by purchasing more bandwidth as needed?
And how much does this cost?
How long is the minimum down time for exceeding bandwidth?

Hey 8 Gig or BW is a lot for a new site to use, but when it does come to that point.
We can provide you with more bandwidth, I am not 100% sure on cost but I think it’s around - $2.00-$3.00/Gig (USD) but really I would just upgrade if it starts to pass 8 gigs.
As for downtime your site will be down for the reminder of the month, and will notify the visitor that you have exceeded the allowed bandwidth. Also during this time you’ll still have access to cPanel and all emails should be accepted.
But before this occurs you’ll get emailed at least once a day, to notify you. Example first email, you have used 70+% of your bandwidth and only have 30-% left, same email the next day.

Thanks for the fast reply, Kistler.
So basically, I'd be given ample warning to buy more gigs, but if I am don't or am unable to heed that warning, then my site would be screwed until the next month starts.
Ok, thanks.
Good to know.
