Web Hosting Forum / Re: Advantages of Linux Hosting
« on: February 25, 2012, 06:41:38 AM »
All websites today currently run on either a Windows web server or a Linux-based server. The vast majority of websites run on a Linux-based platform as Linux has a strong reputation for security and web server performance. With standard (static) HTML-based websites, the web hosting platform doesn't make much difference.

As an extension of the other guy, It's okay to learn ajax, but not quite important. Because jQuery is a new language extended off of javascript, you'd want to learn that as well. AJAX is when you execute something on a server without have the page refresh (Like submitting a form that shows "submitted" when you enter the form, instead of having to reload to a whole different page).

Think how many pics you will want to show on your site.. Divide how many you want to show per page.. Think of where you want to put what like placing the pics, links and buttons as well as banners.. Draw your first page (index) on a paper.. If you like it, starting building up your site..

Google is great for this. Google "webmaster forums" if you like to write. Many webmasters are looking to pay people for well-written articles on many topic.Google "freelance programmer" if you can program (php, asp, etc). Huge demand for these people. Google "market research" if you like testing new products and services.

If it's Linux then you have to learn the Linux command line interface. You use a program called Putty to connect to your Linux virtual private server. If it's Windows, then you use your Remote Desktop Client to remote control the server, and then you have to learn how IIS works.

You might stay at the PR which you had. 3 links is not a game changer.. You should quickly increase the number of High PR backlinks to your site or blog. I got 3 different packages if you want to check them out, all high quality post-panda link wheels.

Once you have done this then see how your website is being optimized, in the sense if you have all the right ingredients in your site that co-relates with your keyword goal. I recommend seocentro.com to do this research. If you have completed this step, add statcounter and google analytics into your website and start monitoring the kind of traffic you are getting.
