What my question is does the ftp only allow you to transfer one file at a time?  Such as the person has to create an image file and then upload each image to that file or is there a better way to do it all at once.  By this I mean a way to transfer the entire file at one time?

Hi guys,

I have a few questions.  I have a few domains that I have registered.  My main domain is spiritrealm.info.  I created another folder for my other domain referencechecker.info.  You will find some of the same files in both folders (I am trying to figure this thing out).

I was wondering if there is a way to upload a whole site at one time instead of doing it one file at a time.  I have the site saved on my desktop as a tpl file?

Thanks,
Gary

I have three different domains that I purchased today.  Which one do I make my primary or I am assuming that it does not matter?  Since the other two would be done via folders correct?  I already have pointed the name servers to you guys and I am opening a paid account today.

I am very new to web design and hosting.  But you guys are awesome!  Every question that I have had has been answered promptly.  Other sites once then get your money could care less if you have any questions or not.

I currently have the free hosting.  (I was the guy with the multiple questions on multiple sites) I was wondering how does it work on the paid hosting if I needed lets say, www.website1.com and www.website2.com.  These would be two different sites.

If I am understanding this it would all be done under cpanel and I can host multiple domains on my account is that correct?  These domains also would be two seperate sites from each other.

Thanks again,
Gary

grin Thank you so much!  I tried messing with this yesterday but felt like an idiot!  I could not figure it out.  I was able to get it to work.
6  Web Design & Developement / Graphic Design / Where to get free pics! on: February 28, 2008, 10:32:48 AM
I was wondering where people get their pics for their websites from.  Does anyone get them from sources like photobucket and etc?  Are those copyrighted?  I am looking for ways to get free templates and also images.  As the sites that I am currently doing are only going to be like non-profit, entertainment sites.  I was thinking something like a Mad magazine website (making fun of stuff).

Honestly, I have tried dream weaver and was about to smash my computer.  The one that I have found so far that I love is Net Essentials Fusion.  The 7.5 version is free on download.com, version 8 is available as an upgrade for $15.  The 10. version is around $110 dollars but they give you a 30 day free trial.

Version 7.5 the graphics can not be resized.  Version 8 can be not sure what else you get for the $15.  Version 10 not sure what the differences are yet.

My 9 year old was using version 10 yesterday and it is amazing.  It gives you three views of the page.  My favorite is the link overview.  This shows you each page and how it is linked to each other.  The next view is the usual WISWIG and then the html page.

I like websites that are very well laid out.  For example my 9 year old son is working on developing his first website.  It is based on Star Wars and he has pics and captions around the pics.  It is kind of a busy site.  I myself find those animated graphics annoying.  There have only been a few that I liked.

I was just trying to make multiple sites.  For example lets say site A and site B.  I assume that the url for the first site would be garypely.t35.com and for site B garypely.t35.com/b

Where do I create the folder for site B?  Also is this similar when using a paid C-Panel for multiple domains?

When I created my first site under my login I have several folders.  One is labeled asset folder, is this normal for the pics?  I used NetObjects Fusion for the development of the site.
Thanks,
Gary

Thanks for the response but I am still lost?  Is there a tutorial or something to walk me through this?  I have tried to do this countless times and I am so lost.  Thanks, Gary

I am new to web design and hosting so sorry if this seems simple.  I am making a few sites that are going to be hosted on t35.com doing the free hosting.  I have a site posted currently garypely.t35.com.  It is just a quick dinosaur site that I threw together to test the ease of the website software that I was using.  (Using NOF-Essentials) I have set up the site with the FTP transfer.  So far so good!

Now I am wondering how to set up to handle multiple sites.  I am working on a ghost site for example.  I assume that I would make a sub folder call it ghost for example.  Would the name that I type in to the ftp be garypely/ghost/t35.com?  When I went to view the site would it be the same?  I am very new to this stuff and very lost.

Would the primary site still be at garypely.t35.com?
