I heard about this when I was little ... I am much older now

but I have a problem with a few of the statements amde here. First, the scientist have predicted that it wouldn't be a sudden and abrupt change. And how does this weaken immune systems? That doesn't make any sense. There WILL be some problems from the Earth's Magnetosphere being screwed up (or lack thereof) but to say it is the direct cause of a weakened immune systems doesn't make sense. Please explain. And why would it attract large asteroids? First, magnetism does not equate gravitational forces. Do you think you are being held down to the surface of the Earth by magnets?!?!? If and when the magnetic fields are messed up, it would seem that things would become more neutral rather than a more focused magnetic force. Unless you are trying to say an asteroid that makes it's usual pass has it's course altered because of the change but I doubt that it will draw it directly into the Earth ... if I'm wrong, it won't make much of a difference will it? Since we'll probably be dead
