1  General / General and Business Discussion / Re: Firefox - Firefox 3.0 Beta 1 on: December 07, 2007, 10:46:21 PM
Nor have I, until reading this topic! I think I might give it a try, I don't usually like trying browsers that are in Beta, just because of some errors that occur and whatnot. However, FireFox has always been my #1 choice, so I think I might have to download the Beta.  grin

I like the design a lot, great job! The drop-down menus were nicely implemented as well. The only suggestion I have it possibly making the wrapper larger, perhaps set it at 90%-95% or something around there.

Nice read, there. Apparently title does reflect upon your ranking somewhat. I think a lot of it has to do with what people commonly search, and then the search engines adapt based upon the commonly searched terms. Which, in theory, is why having keywords in your website's title appear first is better for higher ranks. However, I do not think I would change the title of my website just to gain a few more ranks on search engines.

4  General / Web Hosting Blog / Re: Microsoft IIS to overtake Apache? on: December 07, 2007, 10:30:06 PM
I have no clue why people would want windows with ISS as their server. It just is slower, buggier, and costs more. It is probably mainly large companies with Microsoft Certified IT that is choosing these servers.

Yeah, I'm with animeorb on this one. I have always liked Apache, and disliked IIS. Or, at least favored Apache over the two. Lets just hope Apache stays in the lead.  tongue

One of my blogs went from a pr1 to a pr2, and the rest of my websites went from pr0 to pr1. I'm generally happy with that; they are all higher than they were before.  grin

Great job so far!

One thing I did notice is that the "Anti-Spyware" table goes over the border of the main wrapper. To address this issue, you can either shrink the size of the table or increase the size of the wrapper.

Best of Luck,

Indeed, great article! I have used most of the methods you have listed on my past websites, and they have risen in the rankings pretty quickly - most of my back links were from signatures. As long as the website allows for it, I would definitely suggest putting a link to your website in your signature.

Another thing you will want to remember is that, instead of using parked domains, redirect domains to one single "main domain." This makes sure that you don't have 5 websites with the same content under different listings on search engines.

On one of my forums I have the #1 listing on Google, Technicallity. Yes, I do realize Technicallity is typically spelled "technicality;" however, we did it that way on purpose - no incidental typos in the name. Along with that, the forum is just starting out, and only gets the #1 result only under the "Technicallity" keyword.
