T35 Hosting Support / Paid Hosting General Support / Subdomain redirection alternative

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a subdomain on my website resolve via DNS to a specified IP address instead of using the redirection?
I have a Subversion server on a different host and I was hoping to use a subdomain for easier access into it. I have tried a few different redirection combinations but the SVN software (TortoiseSVN) complains with error 301 "Moved Permanently" and won't follow the standard redirection.
If it is not possible, no big deal, I figure it couldn't hurt to ask.

I was using the catchall regularly so that I could use a unique email, such as ( walmart@icedhybrid.com) to register with sites (in this case, Walmart), and then I would recieve their email without adding a bunch of accounts. This worked nicely, if any one address started to get spammed, as my walmart account did, I could just forward it to :blackhole: and not worry about it ever again. Seeing as how that is now close to impossible with the amount of bounce messages I am getting, I guess I have no choice but to stop using it and create an account for every email I've ever given out... The only alternative I've found is to have a Sender Policy Framework set up in the DNS so users can verify the sender with the host. Do you guys have this already setup, or plan on setting something like this up so domain owners can publish SPF records in the near future? Or is this something that needs to be done at a higher level?

Seeing as how getting rid of those scripts didn't stop the emails, I do have some to give you. I've saved a few of the emails I'm getting into a rar and uploaded it to my website. http://www.icedhybrid.com/downloads/spam-icedhybrid.rarThey are each in .eml files, which are basically raw text output of each email. Each email has already been turned into a failed to deliver email, so you will have to scroll down to get to the original email headers. Hope these help in some way. I have quite a few forwarders set up to :blackhole:, should I take the time to convert them all to :fail: or will that cause them to be redirected back as fail to deliver?

Yes, the emails are listed as from an email address at my domain ( randomhere@icedhybrid.com), the email accounts don't exist, which is why I keep getting the failed to send messages on my catchall account. I had DotProject and WebCalendar installed via fantastico, looks like they needed to be updated a few versions. I removed them, as I no longer use them. Other than that, I only have PHP scripts that I have written myself to generate my pages. None of them send email. Basically you are saying someone is using flaws in my installed scripts to send these? I also cleared out the scripts in my cgi-bin as well. I guess I will see if the emails continue. -Joseph

T35 Hosting Support / Paid Hosting General Support / Spam is being sent using email addresses @ my domain
|

Hello,
Recently someone has started sending tons of spam emails out using randomly generated email accounts @ my domain (icedhybrid.com). I am being flooded with delivery failure messages on my catchall account. It used to be a small amount, maybe 300 every day or so, now its ramped up to 1800. As far as I can tell, this spammer is using multiple open-relay smtp servers to send the mail, anything from yahoo to random .de servers. I am not familiar enough with smtp protocol to know how to prevent this from happening. What can I do to stop this? I don't want my domain to end up being blacklisted or anything. As a temporary fix I can put in forwarders to redirect the messages to :blackhole: but that only lasts until they randomize the From email again.
TIA
Joseph Thomas

Attempting to add it, got the message:
Bind reloading on server1 using rndc zone: [icedhybrid.com] The subdomain, ihnet.icedhybrid.com has been added. icedhybrid.net is already configured. The add-on domain icedhybrid.net could not be added. The subdomain ihnet.icedhybrid.com was not setup either.
However, it does show in my dropdown lists for email, subdomains, etc now.
Everything seems to be working fine, even though it doesn't show in addon domains.
Thanks!

Hey. A while back I had issues adding icedhybrid.net to my account with icedhybrid.com. It would never show in the addon domain area, but it did show up when I added emails, subdomains, etc; I could select icedhybrid.net in the drop down list. Now it seems to have dissapeared completely. I don't have any email accounts on my addon, which I believe I created at least one. Going to http://www.icedhybrid.net works, but other than that its not linked to my account. I attempted to add it through addon domains again, it says that it has already been registered by another user. How can I get this issue resolved? -Joseph Thomas

T35 Hosting Support / Paid Hosting General Support / DNS issue with my domain

Hey again,
After that last downtime my icedhybrid.com domain has DNS issues, tests show that the nameservers ns1.t35.net and ns2.t35.net aren't returning results for the domain. However, my added domain icedhybrid.net IS resolving just fine. Both are through the same registrar and are set to the same nameservers. Do I need to update my nameservers or is it something that just needs to be readded on your end?
TIA Joseph Thomas

Okay, it still doesn't exist in the Addon domains.
I tried adding it: Domain: icedhybrid.net UserName/Subdomain: (blank) Password: (my usual password)
and got this... --- Add Addon Domain could not be modified because it does not resolve to a valid ip address. Please ask the system admin to check their resolv.conf and their dns trust relationship Ignore any messages of success this can only result in failure! icedhybrid.net is already configured.
The add-on domain icedhybrid.net could not be added. The subdomain .icedhybrid.com was not setup either. ---
Am I supposed to leave the username blank to make it direct to the root? I don't want it to go to a subdomain, in fact I would rather have it be the main domain with the .com as the alternate. But I can deal with the .net being an addon. When I started my domain name I didn't think about wanting the .net more. So I just need both to go to the same page.
TIA Joseph

I just tried to add another domain (icedhybrid.net) to my current one (icedhybrid.com) and I got this error when I added it through addon domains: " could not be modified because it does not resolve to a valid ip address. Please ask the system admin to check their resolv.conf and their dns trust relationship Ignore any messages of success this can only result in failure!"
Following that error was a success line, and the domain seems to be pointing to my temp page but it doesnt show in cpanel as an addon domain. Can one of the admins check on my account and make sure everything worked? I just want both domains to point to the same place.
Thanks -Joseph
