T35 Hosting Support / Free Hosting General Support / Site Hack
|

Today I went onto my site and saw this message on my index page. http://jbgamers.t35.com/I've visited that site, it says Welcome to TechSploit, we are a legal hacking community that is here to help you get a better understanding on what hacking actually is. Here you will find hacking related challenges and missions for you to learn the basics of hacking. Feel free to register and join the forums and start learning. Xendz is listed as number two on the list of top hackers. How can it be legal for him to do that? How can I protect myself? Yeah, I can change my password (and I will), but I think they are doing more then guessing my password.

First, this is not about the porn-ads being placed in the html, thankfully I've gotten rid of that problem. This guy somehow figured out where I store my passwords for my user sections, and has now started to post things he shouldn't be able to. How can I stop him? How did he get access to my files? Is there a way I can make certain folders "forbidden" so people can't get into those files unless they are logged in? Maybe you can get a better idea of how he did it if you see what he posted. (Notice he is on my account). 05/Oct/2005 -- Mexico DF -- jojonaloha yes i want you put a link to my site http://hinx3.afraid.org ... jeajajajajajajaja you should change te name to that passwords_file.txt jajajajajajajaajajajajajajajajajaja jjajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja i have stolen all your web system... is a good system in php... who is the programmer of this web?.... my msn/email hax0r.leet.hinx3@gmail.combye... admin suckers The other day he was on another persons account, but I just thought he had guessed their password (it was a pretty stupid password). But apparently he didn't just guess it.

Web Design & Developement / Programming / Variable question
|
on: March 11, 2005, 06:55:46 PM
|
I have a question about how to test whether a variable (or string) has letters in it. I want to make this if statement so only a numerical value will "pass the test" <?php $article=$_GET["article"]; $test=$article; //$tarticles is grabbed from text file. if($test<0 || $test>$tarticles || $test=="") { $article="articles"; }; ?>
So when it is a value that is less than zero or greater then $tarticles or when there is no value set, it will set $article, so that it returns the list of articles instead of a certain article. Right now the if function works for everything, except if the value contains a number first and then any combination of letters or numbers. If it is all numbers or a letter first then whatever, it works. Just not when there is a number first. So, my question is... what can I add to make sure there are no letters in it?

hmm... well maybe i should download it... because SOMEBODY i trusted convinced me to download a file... and it ended up installing every known virus, spyware, adware and the like on my computer. i have spent the last 24+ hours running Norton, Adaware, PestPatrol, and Spybot (each of them found something the other didn't) and still something is messing with my Norton settings. Every other time I restart Norton's Auto-Protect feature gets turned off and i cannot turn it back on, no matter what.
