Looking for a script I can port users from existing forum user database to.

I'm not much of an admin, or webmaster, self learning as I go. So not sure what I should be looking for for this feature.

Some helpful information:
I'm using Yabb 2.2 forum software
I'd like the arcade to not only use my user database but also keep top score of users so they can compete for top score on each game. Pretty standard I think.

I'm an in experinced forum admin, I just started my first one 2 moths ago, I used yabb.

Few of the pros, Feature filled, easily navigated, easy to set up though cpanel, easy admin center, easy to mod. great and fast support team/forum.

Cons, little slow, inexperienced users (the ones that call their monitor, "their computer") have a little hard time with it's features.

Very few complaints on it so far.
Main one is that it is a little slow
But there are lots of mods and skins for it.
Everyone loves the skins. The themes are stolen and used for other sites all the time.

For free one, I don't regret it at all.

If I could afford it, I'd switch to VBulletin in a heart beat though.

I'm also a mod on a phpbb site, and personally, I don't like it.
It is faster, than yabb, (don't take much) but from a user stand point, yabb is closer to Vbulletin and the guy I'm mod for, has me doing alot of the admin and making any changes, mods or updates... so pretty much admin......  yabb is 10 times easier to navigate on server side, the file structure is much simpler. As matter of fact that forum has been down for a month and we can't figure out what is wrong with it.

I can reload yabb from scratch and have it fully restored in 15 mins if it crashes.

thats a realy good question for that i have no idee :/
i also have a "new" forum www.developer-network.org
i'm trying to "post" it everywhere, but 1 month later=> no people Sad

i don't know what to do

Few suggestions.

1. Start a General Chit Chat Board
Make it a no post count board.
Get activity, get people so they aren't scared to post, and soon they will post in teh other areas too, thats the whole idea.

2. Challenge yourself to make at least 5 post a day yourself.
Never fully close the post, leave it open ended so they have to ask questions to get the rest of the story or information.

3. Make sure to reply to every post personally with in 12 hours or less. The sooner the better, No one likes to wait for information and they will go looking somewhere else very soon. The internet has us accustomed to instant gratification and instant answers. Use your best judgement, if they are online or if you catch it with in 2--5 mins after teh post, then ask questions, to get more information on their problem before offering a solution or suggestion.
If you know they are online, maybe leave the post opened so they have to ask you a few questions to clarify your answer.
Everything adds to more post which equals more content, which is what brings people to a forum.

I just started my first one on Dec 23rd
less than 2 months
We have 129 registered members.
Our users have made 14164 Posts within 755 Topics.

My forum is mainly just entertainment........ lots of info to be found too, but the majority of it is simply killing time at work, or boredom and simple entertainment value. Thats it!

I've had the hardest time figuring out how to market it, like to swap links with anyone, because there really isn't a niche for it. No company or site in particular to target to swap links with. I've just grown so far form word of mouth and surfers.

I have been told by users of this software in another forum I had them looking at the cron to see if it was my cron script....
Responses from those users where

"The problem is not you its your host they dont have a curl libairy installed on there server its basicly means you need to ask your host to install it else move."

Is curl installed here?
If not I belive it's a free download at PHP.net. so if it's not already installed, is this a possiability to get installed please?

Thank you in advance for your time and attention.

Also, thank you guys for your great service and affordable prices, I have enjoyed it for over 2 years now. With mimimal problems and minimal down time, I continue to recomend you guys everytime someone ask.
