well, the whole point of a site is so that they can view your files... t35 isn't webspace for your privacy, even though you can use php to create password protected pages. well, it's probably because the folder you store your files don't have an index.html so it just shows the contents of the folder. just create a dummy index page and that's a simple way.

mp3's are usually illegal. i would suggest using midi files as background music. they're much smaller and faster to load.

that's a pretty good link but their are a lot of other simple image galleries but they don't create thumbnails. i suppose you can use a complex alorigithm(sp?) to do it yourself..
9  T35 Hosting Support / Free Hosting General Support / Re: PHP include - file is not within the allowed path on: January 16, 2006, 06:23:02 PM
but their are other ways to include the page. i think it's called dynamic naviation. you should try that. it kinda uses a variation of php includes.

yea that sometimes happens to me when i'm creating thumbnails through php. i don't really see why it times out when your just viewing the folder but their is a 10 second php limit before it's timeout...

I can not see my site, only your redirected advertising.

I did NOT sign up with capital letters or 'strange symbols'? (Such as: '!@#$%^&*()+{}[] |/?<>:;') or spaces.
All of my directories and files meet this standard.  My directories and files do use _ and --.

I tried both IE 6.0.2900 and Netscape 7.1, to no avail.
I entered:  www.aphoenix.t35.com/index.html  which came up both times specifying the http.

The index.html is in the root directory and looks fine when I look at it through the HTP server.

Waaaz Up?

no www., don't know why but try http://aphoenix.t35.com/index.html

Yes, but I have a Hostultra account and the open_basedir restriction isn't in effect. Basically without that function practically ALL php scripts are useless. And what's the point of php if you can't use it. You might as well take away php and their won't be any attacks at all.

In my opinion all this stuff is useless.

How do all the other hosts cope up with this stuff? It's great that you care about your customers and clients but restricting it to this is pointless.
Hackers are weird. They look for challenges. They look for the hardest place to get into and they do it. So, the harder you make it for them, the harder they try.
All these hosts offer PHP.

http://freehostia.com/

But ask yourself "Why are the hackers attackiing this stie in particular?"
And you'll find out that your trying so hard to prevent them so they want to stop your attempts.

Of course, this is my opinion. T35 is a great host grin. It offers something that very few have, unlimited space and bandwith. But it's just hard to like it so much when you really can't use the stuff you give to it's full extent.
