Market Place / Trade Services / Employment / Articles and such..
|
on: June 15, 2008, 02:12:02 AM
|
Im looking for people that need articles written either directly on their sites (if its not relevant to my site) or people that want to have articles written about their blogs/websites/companies and have them posted on MY website. I dont charge much for articles. My website us a food and drink website so anything related to that would be fine. Im also looking for people that have any jobs available doing more tedious work, data entry, posting ads on craigslist, updating databases, MODing forums etc etc. I actually really like tedious work lol tho most people dont and thats why I usually get these jobs. If anyone is interested, please PM me. Thank you! Kristi Ambrose http://www.thelemonplum.com

Market Place / Trade Services / Employment / Re: (Offering) Forum Poster .10$ Per Post (Good Posts)
|

Personally, I do not think anyone would accept this kind of service.
Are you serious? LOL. There are SO many people that offer this service its actually quite amazing, I dont mean any offense. Try going to getafreelancer.com, scriptlance.com, elance.com, myspace.com/jobs, craigslist.com. Goto google.com and search for "forum poster job" Keios and you will find millions of sites, companies and people looking to pay you for forum posts. And your pay per post amount is pretty good as well. Usually sites like it when you charge 10cents to 20cents per post pending on the amount of words per post. Theres also some money in posting articles for people, doing odd jobs for people (databases), and a lot more. Good luck!

General / General and Business Discussion / Re: Do You Promote Your Website Offline?...
|
on: June 15, 2008, 02:02:19 AM
|
I have heard of people doing it offline but I strictly do it ONLINE unless of course Im at a dinner party and someone comes out and asks what I do then of course I run it down for them. I advertise every way I can online, mostly I do it in free ways, but there are time when desperate times call for desperate measures and you really need to put money into your advertising. I belong to alot of forums, I always make sure I put my link in my signature. Most forums have a "promote" area so I always do it no matter how nervous I get about promoting it. Free classifieds, theres millions of calssified sites online. Write articles for people that are relevant to your site. If its a good article they WILL tell other people to goto your site. PPC sites. Word of mouth. If you have a good domain name like findcars.com you can get organic traffic. Site reviews, lots of companies, forums, blogs, etc have site review areas. You post your site, people goto it and they review it. But if they like it they will also come again. Safelists. God theres like a billion ways to advertise online I cant even list all of them.. OH one more important one... backlinks! PM me for more info and Ill try to help out as much as I can Kristi

General / Web Hosting Forum / Re: Is web hosting cheap?
|
on: June 15, 2008, 01:55:04 AM

I like to follow the age old adage of "you get what you pay for." Ive personally never tried a free hosting site, but if these folks say its good you should probably trust them. Personally I belong to host gator. I have the smallest account that they have available. Its cheaper if you buy a few years of hosting up front. I pay monthly, so for my account I pay $8.95, and with that I get alot of space, email addresses, cpanel, fantastico (for wordpress) and alot of other really things. So im pretty happy paying $8.95 a month and getting everything I get.. and the customer service is always really helpful as well.
There are of course sites that have accounts for even cheaper, and even better yet hosting places with coupons. Its a good idea to check out yahoo.com for "web hosting discounts" or "web hosting coupons". And as always check the site out before buying an account. Check out forums, ask friends, see what people really think about the site.

Revenue & Traffic / Ad Revenue / Re: Making Money with Text Links

I really dug this site a lot and have heard nothing but incredible things about them. Sadly I applied and got accepted and then got denied for whatever reason. They wouldnt really give me an answer about it. I believe you have to have a LARGE amount of traffic per month, which makes sense. Thats why im not really hurt, it wasnt about my content which I probably would take personal, it was about the amount of traffic I was receiving, which isint a lot right now. But its building up slowly. In the future once my traffic goes up a bit more Ill def apply again and see if I cant get permanently accepted!
Good luck everyone.

Revenue & Traffic / Ad Revenue / Re: Get Paid for EVERY Visitor To Your Site!! 100% Free.

Oh ya pay per play. I Signed up with this site a few months ago and I decided I just really didnt like having sounds coming from my blog lol. If you ask most people (business or otherwise) they will recommend not having "sounds" on your website that you cant mute or turn off, along with any really bright backgrounds, popups exit or enter, stuff like that turns the visitor off. So even tho it MAY be a good program to go with, I decided to delete my account after thoroughly trying it out. If you dont mind "sounds" or have a blog/website that this would fit with well, try it out.

Revenue & Traffic / Ad Revenue / Re: Parking of domain names
|
on: June 15, 2008, 01:42:12 AM
|

Honestly Ive been parking my domains for about 4 years now. But its a very hard "job" to have, stability wise. Because you just never know. Not only dont you know HOW much your going to make but then you also dont know if the company is going to stay around. I was with a parking company about 1 year ago and I was making $6k a month easily. Of course this is also when arbitrage was allowed. Then I switched over to someone else who was using google adsense ads on the search pages and incorporated wiki type articles on to the search pages, which really made them NOT be search portals lol. Anyway, I was making eh okay money with that. And then my account got deleted with adsense (i wasnt doing anything illegal I might add). And now Im with revenue direct which seems to be getting a lot of BAD flack lately for not paying members.. or not paying certain members.
I think in domain parking the two most important things are your domain names and the sites your with. No matter what always research the sites your going to join, before doing so. And if your domains arent that good, then go buy one or two good ones and see what a difference it really makes. Try to find keyword rich domain names, even if they have hyphens (stay away from numbers ie; help4less.com).

Market Place / Site Promotion / The Lemon Plum
|
on: June 15, 2008, 01:26:27 AM
|
|
Hey guys my website is all about food&drink. Im a Chef and have a BA in Culinary Arts and I absolutely LOVE cooking so I thought that the best thing I could do was to somehow incorporate that into a website. So in turn I decided to make The Lemon Plum. All the content on the site is written by me and is unique, which is obviously a very good way to get traffic from people and search engines. Anyway I have recipes on there, I write articles for my other affiliate programs Im into, I write articles for other people and feature them on my blog, offer cook books to be bought, and have lots of specials with the companies Im involved with.
So if you could Id really like it if you could check my site out. Thanks for your time! Enjoy!
