 That is why I mostly don't post in the programming section. I know how to do somethings, but I have my own method that I know isn't up to the latest w3 specks. I've not learned css2 yet, but will soon. I don't use xml or css in place of tables. All stuff I need to learn. I've found that a programmers helps forum with 100,000+ members can have few post in many of their subforums that deal with specific programming languages. So...this forum is not alone. I've quit most programming forums because the programming geeks are no wheres to be found, and the newbies are a dime a dozen. Yea, I'm talking about me, a newbie. :lol:

I'll keep that in mine. I'll give it a try to see if it works, just for kicks. I actually quit putting these free videos on my site because I decided that what they are doing is not what the companies that actually host the video wants them to do. Video links go up and down like yo-yos. And NBC start suing everyone who had any music of theirs up even if they did pay royalty fees. So, I just quit.

General / Web Hosting Blog / Re: Do site titles matter in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
|

 I actually made sure that my site was low on the radar screen. I didn't want too much traffic because its content was really meant for a specific discussion list I'm a part of. However, I'll be starting a new website with my sister (she'll own it), that we have to do right so it gets lots of hits and makes lots of money. Currently, I'm thinking of buying 2 domain names that lead to the same site only because the name I want is taken. I don't understand why nanowrimo had to choose such a name. Nanoworld is taken because of nano technologies. I wouldn't want to use nanowrimoworld. That just seems to be morally wrong. It's too bad that mega tags are ignored, and hidden text meant for the Blind (not sight impaired, as I mean those who completely can not see) means that your site will be concidered scam. As far as what brings in the traffic... having a social site. I do not mean a forum that for a specific sub group of people. I mean a site that offers blogs, photo hosting, live chats, and popular games all tied in with music (with legal royalty fees paid) that allows all users to save to whatever playlist they want, what ever song they want to - as long as its on the server. Unfortunately, I can't program such a sight. And, it would take capital up front. Failing that, start lots of blogs on all the various blogging sites, and post away as different people. And, keep your email address a secret from all so that they don't find out its the same person. I'll rattle off now...

What he is saying is that it refuses to upload. It takes forever but doesn't do anything. Music files always takes too long to upload. I find that music files time out too quickly. Fichiers musicaux prend toujours trop de temps à télécharger. Je trouve que les fichiers musicaux time out trop vite. Tip: For non-English speakers, try using google language tools for translating. Astuce: Pour les non-anglophones, essayez d'utiliser google outils linguistiques de la traduction. google language tools

I was wondering if you support DreamWeaver? Flash? (Or will in the future). Eventually, I want to learn how to program games and have them up on my site. I was told that Dreamweaver does everything Flash does and more. So, I'm leaning towards Dreamweaver. Thanks! ps. I won't be needing such support until 2009 at the earliest.

I did put in a support ticket, but because its the weekend, no one is responding. So, I thought I would check the forum. I do wonder, why both of my sites is having such issues? I was afraid we were being hacked again, but I don't think so because my webpages are online. I just can't edit any of them. Thanks for checking into this. tpgames with 2 separate accounts with same issue. tpgames.net and tpgames.com

Just in case you've not figured this out yet, If the picture is an image map, then you want to see this page for an example: http://www.tpgames.net/gaming/2/wordgamesnav.htmlHere's the code for image maps: <tr> <td colspan="2"> <br> <MAP NAME="MyMap">
<AREA SHAPE="Rect" alt="9 Letter Scramble!" title="9 LETTER SCRAMBLE!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/9letterscramble/9letterscramble.html" COORDS="543,4 735,69">
<AREA SHAPE="Rect" alt="BUBBLES!" " title="BUBBLES!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/bubbles/bubbles.html" COORDS="169,9 406,78">
<AREA SHAPE="Rect" alt="CRYPTOLOGY!" title="CRYPTOLOGY!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/cryptology/cryptology.html" COORDS="72,321 194,403">
<AREA SHAPE="Rect" alt="" title="Foriegn Languages Games!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/fl/j/jnav.html" COORDS="95,406 296,504">
<AREA SHAPE="Rect" alt="CRIS CROS!" title="CRIS CROS!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/criscros/criscros.html" COORDS="29,7 104,229">
<AREA SHAPE="Polygon" alt="GUESS THE PHRASE!" title="GUESS THE PHRASE!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/guessthephrase/guessthephrase.html" COORDS="240,164 281,164 289,228 361,226 359,126 240,126">
<AREA SHAPE="Polygon" alt="AD LIB!" title="AD LIB!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/adlib/adlibnav.html" COORDS="104,2 130,215 215,355 292,390 292,324 226,281 183,199 162,2">
<AREA SHAPE="Rect" alt="SCRAMBLED WORDS!" title="SCRAMBLED WORDS!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/scrambledwords/scrambledwords.html" COORDS="737,329 514,514">
<AREA SHAPE="Rect" alt="TIM!" title="TIM!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/tim/tim.html" COORDS="69,264 93,280">
<AREA SHAPE="Polygon" alt="WORD FIND!" title="WORD FIND!" HREF="/gaming/2/word/wordfind/wordfindnav.html" COORDS="332,504 433,232 632,99 737,103 736,287 490,341 487,515">
<IMG USEMAP="#MyMap" SRC="/gaming/2/wordgamesnav.jpg" BORDER="0"> </MAP>
If you google search image maps, there is one site that gives a good tutorial on how to figure out what the coordinates are. I forget how I did that now. Sorry! If its not an image map, then a basic <img src="URL link here/imagename.jpg" alt="title" width="30px" height="30px"> on the HTML page should work.

If you google search framesets HTML, you will find several sites that give good tutorials on frames. One of the sites will probably solve your answer. I use frames all the time, but I use a simple frame code that might not work for what you are doing. <iframe name="tpgames" frameborder="1" height="600" scrolling="auto" width="800" src = "http://www.tpgames.net/a/h0Jm3.html"> </iframe> This is just my template for a iframe that just puts another page inside a neat little box.

I really must come here more often. LOL At the risk of this help being a little late, or shall we say very late, here goes : On free, what I would do, is find a template you like from a site, and then just change the image URL links to reflect where your images are. The buttons and all go on the HTML page. I don't recommend using Javascript's version of HTML. Straight HTML is much easier. Use <img src="http://www.your URLhere.com/imagename.jpg" width="124px" height="30px" alt="image name here"> for images. For buttons that are links, the code is: <a href="your link url here/name of page here.html> <img src="http://www.url-link-here.com/ButtonName.jpg"> Title of Page here if you want. </a> This is the simplist way to do this. You will get a small _ to the right of the image, but that doesn't matter. It works and makes the image a link. I do recommend in the alt="" area, put what the link is for here. It makes it easier for person using Jaws reader (for the sight impaired). Also, it will help make your page validate at www.w3.org. I highly recommend using Firefox browser and searching for the "Web Developer Toolbar" add-on at mozilla.org. It very useful in debugging your code. Lastly, I recommend thescripts.com for help in programming. I can't guarantee I'll remember to come back here. LOL Scriptfrenzy in June, and I'll be busy writing for it. Best wishes!
