Does a server have to be set up for Java? I know that certain things is needed on a computer for Java files to work, but I don't know about server side. Maybe some staff member might know.

Issue: connect four image for banner1.gif does NOT exist. Yet, the java game only shows connect four image.

The images I should be seeing are banners with 'we love you', birth - death dates, and we can do it. I beleive the we can do it banner does show up. The other two banners on show as connect four. I have cleared my cache in my browser. Is there a cPanel cache for my site that needs to be cleared? Thanks!
By the way, java SCRIPT games, do not have this issue.

thanks! It didn't work. I'll just skip it. There's another forum I can go to for Java.

What would be a standard port? What you gave is exactly what I have now.

UPDATE: The rooms are not that themeable to my taste. It predefined themes. So, ditching the entire idea for now. Its just that with java, one needs to upload the images into the java program, and I can't do that on their server. Plus, I couldn't do that on my own site because I do not know how yet. I won't learn that until later this summer.  rolleyes

Leave it blocked then, because I can just connect with link to their server using html. It's okay. I'll just use it exclusively for the fan base part of my site.

I'll come up with another program for the children's part of the site, when I find one. I just wanted a program that was within itself so that children could talk with each other without being exposed to the adults. I've got 4 years to find something.  grin  (This program had graphics for rooms, so was more sociallly themeable.)
37  T35 Hosting Support / Paid Hosting General Support / Java chat error I don't understand... Tried installing chat on paid site. on: January 30, 2007, 09:59:23 PM
I get error "status: Exception while connecting. Server down, firewall config or fil-URL applet."

I do have a paid account, and was trying to install a free java chat program on my site. However, I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

<APPLET CODE="chat.ChatApplet" ARCHIVE="http://www.tpgames.net/chat/VisualChat/webserver/chat.jar"
CODEBASE="http://www.tgames.net/chat/VisualChat" WIDTH=520 HEIGHT=400>
<PARAM NAME="CabBase" VALUE="chat.cab">
<PARAM NAME="Port" VALUE="5555">
<PARAM NAME="Room" VALUE="Lobby">
<PARAM NAME="DemoMode" VALUE="FALSE">
</APPLET>

How I installed it was installed everything on my desktop, and then uploaded everything onto the site. The chat works if I use their applet to go to their server's hosting site. But, I want to use my own website space so that I can customize everything myself, and save using their webserver.

Here's the link to their site with info on installation which totally confused me:
http://www.weirdoz.org/visualchat/embed.html
I did not understand where to put any of those codes.
Thanks!
38  T35 Hosting Support / Paid Hosting cPanel & Fantastico Support / To Delete files that won't delete in cPanel: INFO on: January 25, 2007, 08:58:34 AM
I finally figured out how to delete files using a ftp client.
Log in as usual using the ftp client on your computer.
Navigate under 'remote site' over to file you can not delete.
Click on this file and rename it as something using English letters only,
with out any spaces, characters, and so on. Use only English A-Z letters.
Attach .txt to the end to make file more accessible.
I used filezilla because it is a free program.

I kept trying to find something ftp within cPanel before.  rolleyes

I do recommend that cPanel adds foriegn language support such that foriegn language files can be deleted and accessed like all the other files, even when file name is a mix between 2 languages. And accessed, without having to use a ftp client. In my case, I accidentally mixed Russian and English in the file name 'UcanDeleteBelowfile'. I had 2 Russian characters before the U.  LOL

I've finally figured out how to get tpgames.us for all her files too. I realized I had to NOT put in fhionnail in the URL to get the file. Or, use the old method of tpgames.com/fhionnail/filename.whatever

Basically, meaning redirects are not needed.
42  T35 Hosting Support / Paid Hosting cPanel & Fantastico Support / Re: Playing around with redirect of tpgames.us gave me fhionnail post on forum! on: January 04, 2007, 02:25:02 PM
Okay, something is going on with Firefox!!!  angry
Stupid Firefox is redirecting me to the post. I can't even refresh the page to get tpgames.us. Why it is associating on my computer, tpgames.us with the posting in the forum is beyond me!

I am reclearing my cache, history, and so on. I should have checked it in Opera, but didn't think to. Opera gives me what I want. Reclearing worked. Funny it did this after I cleared the history/cache in the first place.

I think I must have confused firefox somewhere between the redirect page and accessing the forum's notes.
I've decided to NOT attempt a redirect as everything I've tried results in a server error with firefox, of various types from 500 error to "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."
43  T35 Hosting Support / Paid Hosting cPanel & Fantastico Support / Playing around with redirect of tpgames.us gave me fhionnail post on forum! on: January 04, 2007, 01:21:23 AM
On the tpgames.com account:
I had put in a add-on domain redirect such that tpgame.us would point to www.tpgames.us/fhionnail/hello.html, but when I put in tpgames.us in the browser, I was brought to this forum and the thread I had put in with the domain question ("Is there a way to add domain that has access to cPanel?"). So, I removed domain redirection.

What is going on?  rolleyes

Addon Domain Redirection
tpgames.us is now being redirected to
Quote

I also tried it as http://fhionnail/hello.html
and www.tpgames.us/fhionnail/hello.html
and tpgames.us/index.html

Thanks! I thought you might want to check into this. I was only playing around with it to see what it would do.  grin

Post it brings me to:
http://www.t35.com/forums/index.php?topic=2222.msg9433

--> !
Also, when I tested www.tpgames.us I thought it worked. However, now I get the above thread instead of the index file.  rolleyes
However, http://www.tpgames.us/hello.html gets me to what I'd like to see.

Here's the direction to the index.html file.
http://www.tpgames.com/fhionnail/index.html
