Ok I am using a MySQL database @ freeMySQL.net (mysql server is SQL06.freemysql.net). I tried to connect using both the sql06.freemysql.net address and localhost adresses for my host. And I get the following error with the freemysql server:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/freehost/t35.com/v/f/vf84/phpclanwebsite/appl_top.php on line 19
Couldnt connect to the server.

I don't know what I did wrong and why I cannot connect to the server. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

you'll only need to use "SQL06.freemysql.net", are you still getting this error?
