Well I'm not going to talk about Google because they are penalizing free web hosts, but t35.com is #3 on yahoo for "free php web hosting", #4 for "free website hosting" and #10 for "free web hosting". All three are very very competitive.

As far as google, our new blog (http://www.webhostingmind.com) is now #5 for "web hosting blog" on there Smiley

Well, your web hosting blog appears to be jumping around a bit. Which is normal,, I can proudly say I am #2 for "facebook stuff" and currently #3 for "facebook proxies"
btw I'm not running proxies. Its a TopSite that links to proxies.
facebooknotes.info/facebook-proxy-list

I've been studying google for about 3 months now, I noticed that my site disappears for thies terms sometims then reappears. I believe this called the "sandbox", I noticed If I stop building backlinks then the site will disappear.

Anyone else have problems maintaining their ranks? This is not a easy job at times, appears at time you have to "fight" and its never ending or else you will lose the top 10.  I guess Google can make or break your website.

If you google "baton rouge womens football", you will see that brfuel.com is the #1 site.  I designed that.

It is #2 when you google louisiana women's football.

If you google "christian polo", you will see that jesusrags.com is #8.  Did that one too.

It is #6 when you google "christian polo shirts".

Well I am #3 on Google for usingyouros.  I don't have many rankings for my forum on Google, however I do get a good percentage of visitors from search engines.

I am #1 for usingyouros on Yahoo, and I have to work a bit on increasing my SERPS on Yahoo and Google.

On one of my forums I have the #1 listing on Google, Technicallity. Yes, I do realize Technicallity is typically spelled "technicality;" however, we did it that way on purpose - no incidental typos in the name. Along with that, the forum is just starting out, and only gets the #1 result only under the "Technicallity" keyword.

What SEO have you guys done to get those high ranks? Did you pay people to do the SEO for you and test it out or have you just done the labor yourselves over time?

I was number one for 'free page peel script' for a couple of months but I've slipped down to number four now. It's been good to me though. Lot's of people click on the sample page peel ad on my page to test it and some of them sign up! (I probably shouldn't have said that!  grin)

My blog also comes in at number 2 when you google 'cocaine irish society'.  shocked and it's number 1 if you google 'sligo brothels'  shocked shocked

The moral here is, be careful what you blog about! smiley

seanabc ... How did you find what keywords you were listed #1 for? Just trial and error? Logs of where the hits were coming from?

It's just through keeping a careful eye on my statistics. I spend far too much time logging into statcounter and tracking what keywords people are using. I know there are so many more productive things I should be doing but I haven't been able to get past doing that yet!
