huh What program should I use to get a html document to save as a web document instead of a txt file? Notepad isn't working.

Secondly, How do I get my html document's result to show up on my web site? What I mean is, if I write a html doc that says background color blue, text black, etc., how do I get site to actually show that? I do not know what file to put my doc in. I am learning html, etc. but is still ignorant.

This question is extra:
Last question: Does anyone know of a jigsaw puzzle program that allows you to put in your own images but the customer can only play on your website? tibo software only allows downloads of game. I did post this last question on a jigsaw forum site. So far, no one has a clue.

I have a html book that I am trying to find the answer in. However, the only thing I found so far, is that notebook can do html. So, there must be something else I am doing wrong. I am probably putting the html/css in the wrong folder. I copied the program from my own tripod sitebuilder site. Iknow the images won't work as I currently have it, because I haven't uploaded them yet. So, I will upload the pictures.

My site is www.tpgames.com

Anyone have a clue as to what folder the html goes in so that my site looks like a web page instead of a document holder? THANKS!!! huh

1st answer: if you make a doc in notepad, when you save it, make sure the field "save as file type" is set to "all files".
2nd Answer: i'm not sure exactly what your asking, but i know a website with good tutorials for learning how to use html: www.htmlgoodies.com.

I found in C panel a program called site builder. I am using that instead until I learn more html. I no longer have blank white page with links on it. I think that one problem was that I was trying to copy the html off of my tripod site. That site, is free for me. I did not have all the  doc files that I needed nor did I have the css file. So, the server did not know what to do with it.  rolleyes fave icon

Make sure you are saving as "filename.html" you need the .html for it to work, otherwise it saves as a .txt

Secondly, How do I get my html document's result to show up on my web site? What I mean is, if I write a html doc that says background color blue, text black, etc., how do I get site to actually show that? I do not know what file to put my doc in. I am learning html, etc. but is still ignorant.

if you save it as a html file, it will automatically show up ... aka, you dont do anything ... if this doesnt work, your html isnt written correctly
