A nostalgic review of what happened to some of the largest free web hosts (Geocities, Xoom, FortuneCity, etc..) during the last decade: What happened to free web hosting?

The same thing that happened to Free ISPs, Even NetZero is only giving away 10 hours of free dial up service that would be enough for a small email account.

The model that once was is gone.

It is very hard to support a free service, you should be proud that you are still around. cool

You're right... Netzero always looked like they would be offering a free service forever. Then I remember one day I went to their site and all of a sudden it was now $9.99/month. I still think they offer free internet, but the amount of ads they show has gone up and they only allow you to use it 10 hours/month.
