Free web hosting is free.. so you might want to start off with that. Then upgrade to paid hosting as your website grows and you become generating revenue from it. Starting this way allows you to start your website with minimal risks since there are almost no costs involved.

Web hosting has always been a cheap area. All you need is about $15 to setout a web site. The site domain name is more expensive than the hosting itself.

You can host for free, as there are some providers but they generally want their ads shown and can make your site look rather poor. But its boils down to what sort of site you want, as you are tennis fan, maybe a forum, a small web host would go a long way. You just need the domain name and the hosting

I agree to the free hosting for beginning. Starting a website is always a risk for beginners. So better to go for a free if you will drive less traffic. But as soon as you starts getting traffic, you must change to a better service. My suggestion is to go for well known hosting companies rather than starters if you start getting revenue from your site.

Thanks

I would start with a free hosting. you can play with your website make and learn what you want your website to be without any cost. Then you can always get a paid service.

I am using 000webhost as they give you good service for free. Even when you have your own domain name you can host your website there. You can even create multiple accounts for different websites.

I think this is the way to go

If you wanna sign up here is the link.

Not sure if I am allowed to post affiliate links. so if not here is the link without affiliate. But please consider using the above link. it doesn't cost you anything.

Ha ha. Ha ha ha. You must be joking. This web host is better than any other I've come across. Even more so than that pile of rubbish scandal that you have there. T35 is much better. Plain and simple.

I feel as if I am closing in on that final step toward a commercial website. I may upgrade in the future. I think I can see it. Cheesy

Hello archy22 and everybody. Yes the path would be to start from a free web hosting account, there are quite plenty of them that are free but yet they offer php and mysql as well.

The number of free hosting providers now are quite many. So you shouldn't have any problem finding one.

When you have establish the site, make sure you do something to actually get traffic to that site. Because in time, when you have put a lot of work to the site and getting no visitors, it will drain you up and in the end most people would just forget about continuing their hard worked web site.

One of the most important submission is to dmoz.org, make sure you submit your site there.

That would get you started... make sure the pages will all have proper page titles, description, and keywords.

Good luck with your tennis website!

webhosting can be free and it can be paid and if it's paid it's usually about $10/mo or so...
I would recommend you not to choose free. I would recommend you to choose HostGator, even my site (QueenZSoftware.com) is hosted there! Smiley

If you do not want to pay money, there are several hosting companies that will offer you free website hosting. The downside to it is that you don't usually get a domain name (yoursite.com/net/org). You may experience more site downtime, and the hosting company may place advertisements on your page. Also, the services that they offer are somewhat limited compared to paid hosts.

If you decide to go with a paid host, decent hosting is usually cheap ($15/month or so.)

You get what you pay for.

I like to follow the age old adage of "you get what you pay for."  Ive personally never tried a free hosting site, but if these folks say its good you should probably trust them.  Personally I belong to host gator.  I have the smallest account that they have available.  Its cheaper if you buy a few years of hosting up front.  I pay monthly, so for my account I pay $8.95, and with that I get alot of space, email addresses, cpanel, fantastico (for wordpress) and alot of other really things.  So im pretty happy paying $8.95 a month and getting everything I get.. and the customer service is always really helpful as well.

There are of course sites that have accounts for even cheaper, and even better yet hosting places with coupons.  Its a good idea to check out yahoo.com for "web hosting discounts" or "web hosting coupons".  And as always check the site out before buying an account.  Check out forums, ask friends, see what people really think about the site.

I recommend that if you are only creating the site that you start off with a free web host and upgrade once you are getting enough visitors or using more resources than the free host allows. With paid hosting I would recommend Bluehost, Hostgator or webhostingpad. These give you good hosting at reasonable prices.

Start off with a free web hosting site like geocities. There are other ones out there as well, and you can always update to paid ones once you've got practice in on how to build your own site grin

The answer to your question " Is Hosting Cheap?" Well that depends on a lot of factors and what your needs are. There are many places that offer hosting at very low costs, but you really have to determine your current needs and your near future needs before deciding which hosting plan to go with. Some of the lower cost hosting plans lack in support, which can be costly in the long run.
