Hi guys,
Nowadays there are so many web hosting providers to choose from.

Back a decade ago, web hosting plans costs around $25/Month or so with reasonable space and bandwidth allotment. Dedicated servers can costs about $700/Month... I remember paying that much back in 97... woo hoo cost me all that I have!

Right now... the prices are quite... unbelievable... it has become so cheap, that it's even more expensive to buy a cup of coffee or a snack...

What do you think as a consumer... with all the overselling web hosts. Now, even the giants are giving away unlimited everything...

What do you think of this trend in the web hosting sector... good or bad?

Let's have fun and just discuss... which one are more important:
1. Web hosts that are giving away TONS of features
2. Web hosts that are giving not so much, but give you guides, on how to actually create and maintain a successful website, one that makes money...

Would most of you consider all the space, bandwidth, etc more important, or a guide on how to make it happen more important...

It's quite interesting subject huh? Let's talk about it

Most webhosts oversell.
webshosting works like

Teir 1 provider (like level3 ) -- Tier 2 provider (the datacenter) -- Teir 3 (someones who rents a server and sells webhosting)

But webhosts are limited in what they have (CPU, RAM, bandwidth). They can't just offer unlimited everything. Unless there server is so idle  they need customers or there trying to oversell and get every penny out of the server and then when you actually use the server what yours supposed to get they kick you off.

Well, if a Webhost can offer all that and yet actually offer all that, (if you know what I mean Wink ) than by all means I'd prefer that. But overselling, I hate it. It's so misleading to those poor noobs. Sad

The cost was so high back them because there was not that many companies offering the service. The more competition there is, the less the cost can be for the hosting. You just have to be careful about who you go with and what your needs are.

The number of people working in the web hosting businesses are very high. There are many options and packages available to the customers across all companies involved in web hosting.

I usually go with an annual package of web hosting as it is annoying to pay the bill for each month.
