Well I found good article to increase blog traffic. Here is their 10 points.

1) Comment on Blogs
2) Submit Articles
3) Participate in Community Forums
4) Submit Your Blog to Directories
5) Post Often
6) Write about Blogging
7) Post Breaking News

Social Bookmarking
9) Run a Contest

Develop relationships with other bloggers. Comments are not enough when you can befriend someone new and hopefully get more then friendship out of the relationship (I don't mean that in any way other then a business relationship

).
Think of it like building a network, blog for him and let him blog for you. Then find common ground with other bloggers and keep expanding. A possible idea is to once a month to have the bloggers in your network all blog about the same thing but have them all link to just one of the blogs in the network so that they can have a viewership increase and maybe get a few more readers.

I saw something similar on one of the other posts on this forum, but it was 6 points. Can't recall if it was you or not. Anyway, comments wasn't on the list of the other post and I mentioned that. Pheew, it's good to know I know a thing or two.

And kngavi, I agree with you, comments aren't enough - but they do help.

Blogging is one of the effective ways to drive traffic to your website. To increase the traffic, keep posting regularly and submit the post to blog directories and other search engines. Make sure that you write quality content so that visitors keep visiting your site for more information.
Also, network with other webmasters and swap information for achieving best results.

all points are correct but I generally follow these steps to establish constant traffic

1) Research and find all blogs, and forums related to your niche
2) Submit to selected directories,
3) Submit articles to article directories and such
4) Start posting on the blogs and forums everyday about 2-5 posts on each forum

First, create a lot of useful content. This should be something that people need to find out, and want to share with others. Then, spread them around on a number of sites that accept submissions like - Article sites, social news sites and bookmarking. With this have a tell-a-friend form on your site wherever necessary… this is simple but very effective tool to drive quality traffic.

Have descriptive titles, a captivating and intriguing title draw visitors into reading your article every time. The better the title, the more interest you will attrcvc

That is alot more work than it seems. It is also the general SEO pattern to follow for any site, not just blog.

The work involved in that is staggering, essentially you must become a full tim emarketer (writer) for other blogs, forums, etc. unless you have the $$ to hire some content writers and link builders. (Link Building by Commenting on Blogs, etc.)

If you are in that same situation, here is a simple strategy that will certainly increase your blog traffic and make you break the 500 daily page views mark.Just make sure to execute the 4 steps as planned and to spend the two hours and a half every day (obviously if you have more time available you can expand the time.

you have to do quality link building like comment on blog, classifieds and bookmarking so you will get good traffic from this.
