About a month ago I finished making web site for a Catholic Middle School. Please take a look at it and let me know what you think. URL: http://assumptioncatholicschool.net/

Looks pretty good to me! I like the way you did the menu's/navigation. The only issue I had is that it took a little bit too long to load. The top banner/header being over 60kb was mostly the reason for this. Is there anyway to make it smaller without losing the quality of the pic? I know adobe photoshop has a web optimization mode you can run when you save the file.

The "submenu on hover" thing on the menu at the top doesn't work well with my browser; I'm using Opera 9. For example, when I move my mouse over the "About Us" link, the submenu will appear, but when I move my pointer down to the submenu links (off of the "about us" link), the submenu will disappear almost immediately.

Other than that, it looks and functions great. Smiley

Thanks for all the feedback.

I will try to reduce image size a little to make the site load faster.

As for compatibility with Opera, the site was designed to work with IE and Firefox. I did not test with other browsers. I should have tested it. If there is an easy solution for this, I will try to fix it.

The site is managed by a commercial CMS called Subdreamer. Calendar is also a commercial script called Easy PHP Calendar. Very soon I'll be adding photo gallery to the site which will be powered by AZ Photo Album Script Pro.

Is Subdreamer a new CMS, or has it been around awhile? I've never heard of it.  huh

I believe it was started in 2005. So, it is fairly new. I started using it in July of 2006...

Just recently revisited the site, and noticed a small error.

The header text with the background block color is overlapping the navigation menu and seems to be stuck at position 0,0 in the browser window.

Nice looking site, well done. However I feel that the page is getting a bit squashed and that the white border on the sides could be used far more efficiently. Maybe its because of my monitor but maybe just let the images and text flow out a bit more.

Also the whitespace on the bottom could be completely chopped off, its unnecessary.

I like it Cheesy

I like the design a lot, great job! The drop-down menus were nicely implemented as well. The only suggestion I have it possibly making the wrapper larger, perhaps set it at 90%-95% or something around there.

I use Firefox, and everything loaded perfect for me.  I would make the header a bit smaller, as it takes about 25% of the page height.

I like the menus and the design.  I also like the news section, the picture on the right, the fonts, and colors.

Again the only thing you should do is make the header image smaller.  Other than that you have a great site.

9/10

The layout is clean, and comprehensive. I like the way you presented your banner. It rotates. That's truly sweet. The menus are well defined and shows you what you are selecting. Thus, we are not like "lost"

I believe that everything is perfect. What is required is that you build on whatever you have already done. I will give you 9/10. Why not 10? It is to make you work harder and be better.  tongue

Thank you for all the positive feedback.

As for the header images, i suggested making them smaller, but the customer wanted them to be 200px by 790px. School administration is happy with the site, so everything is fine.

Thanks,
Andriy
