I have had this site open for little over a year and am getting dismal results. The template and software are godaddy's quick shopping cart.
I have been seeing a lot of traffic but few sales. Please give me your insight and don't pull any punches.

The first thing that pops into mind is that it looks very 1990's-ish.

When you first visit, there is a lot of text thrown at you all at once -- you don't know where to begin reading. Maybe you could seperate the navigation bar on the left by changing the background color, or some kind of a border. And maybe it's just me, but I don't really like underlined links in a navigation bar; maybe make them be underlined on hover, and change their font color or something to people know they're links.

that's all i can think of at the moment.

ditto everything chickenmeister said.

Also, how about some product or images of something that resembles the service you provide?

When you arrow over the links, they turn yellow.  You just can't see yellow on top of white.  You need a different color for your links.

Why is the layout for http://www.lyonsperformance.com so different from http://www.shop.lyonsperformance.com ??

When you navigate from http://www.lyonsperformance.com  to http://www.shop.lyonsperformance.com, it's like you are completely leaving the ttp://www.lyonsperformance.com site.  People who are unfamiliar with your site (which is presumably EVERYONE) will think that they are leaving your site and going to another site...  which will make them question the security of the site.

Consistency is key, my man.  You have to remain consistent throughout your website.  Don't go changing the layout like that.  Bad move.

Pick a layout & stick with it.  That's why your store isn't doing good.

But, heck, what do I know, I just do websites as a freelance.... check out www.geauxwebdesigns.com

Good luck

I definitely agree with both of you. The reason the two sites appear different is that the templates that are available are not exactly the same. Godaddy's website software and shopping cart software are designed by different people. They only allow minimal changes to the structure so I did the best I could to make them match. Do you think I should have a note explaining that the store link will take them to another secure website?
Also, any ideas as to where I can get website quality images for my header? I would really like to jazz it up.

I guess it will help if you made some kind of note stating that they will be directed to a secure shopping cart or site....

There are sites that you can buy the use of stock images.  You can google "stock images".  Compare prices for the images, sign up, and then buy the images.

My graphic designer friend uses istockphoto.com which I am not endorsing, but am just mentioning for your references.  You can get images for free at morguefile.com which my graphic designer friend also uses.

Both sites offer high quality images that you can use for your website.

If you want a complete overhaul, I can help...  A web designer could do a world of wonder for your site. check out www.geauxwebdesigns.com

Huge ditto to that. I automatically go to the end where the big bold red text is, then moved back up and got overwhelmed by everything all over and closed the page.

You may want to try to simplify your site a bit even.
